Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, better called Ari Lennox, is an American artist and performer from Washington, D.C., who was the first female to join J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. Her debut EP Pho, released was released on the 21st of October, 2016 and was released through Dreamville Records. The singer began to earn notoriety. Shea Butter Baby her debut studio album came out on May 7th 2019. Ari Lennox first posted music online in 2012. She released her debut album Ariography as well as her debut mixtape in 2013 five Finger Discount. Ari Lennox continued uploading her music online as well as her own single Bound. In the year 2015, she performed in Omen's Elephant Eyes Album on Sweat released on the 21st of July. J. Cole had her submit her tracks to the Dreamville Team later in the year, as he wanted Rihanna to collaborate with her on some references. It was announced on December 8, that she had signed with Dreamville Records. Backseat was a track she sang alongside Cozz on her Revenge of the Dreamers II collaborative album. In October of 2016 she dropped her debut EP Pho. Ari Lennox was a guest on J. Cole's Change as well as performing in the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour as opening artist. In 2018 she went on to appear on two songs with her label-mates EarthGang on Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. The debut album of Ari Lennox Shea Butter Baby was released on 16 July 2018. The album's first single, called Whipped Cream of the album dropped on in September 5th, 2018, accompanied by a the music video. On November 9, she released two additional singles: forty Shades of Choke as well as Grampa. The 13th of November, she came out with two additional singles, One and Pedigree. One and Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby is a track she sang alongside Cole on Creed II's soundtrack on the 16th of November. The track was released as a stand-alone single in February 2019, to coincide with the release of her debut album. The music video premiered 20 February 2019 in order to go along with the track. Within one period of a week, the video had more than 3 million views. As a support act, she toured together with 6LACK during December 2018 on The From East Atlanta With Love Tour.
